Does it matter if you have regular weights/bar then Olympic weights/bar?

I know Olympic weighs more and cost more, but is there any other difference? Does one give an advantage over another in muscle growth?

      if you are an advanced bodybuilder then Olympic bars but otherwise it makes no difference, regular 1" bars are easier.
